Cheryl’s graphic design education heavily influences her work.  Her experience in art school was to use the quickest method of executing a piece.  She worked mostly with acrylic, watercolor, gouache and inks.  Alkyd, a fast-drying oil paint, was introduced to her in an illustration class.     She also works in acrylic, using a retarder in large areas.  

 Cheryl also likes to work with pure design, executing studies in balance, color, depth, movement, etc.    She finds working in a series perfect for exploring multiple ways to look at, or think about, a subject or design.

La formation en graphisme a influencé fortement le travail de Cheryl. Son expérience à l'école d'art a été d'utiliser la méthode la plus rapide pour exécuter une pièce. Elle a travaillé principalement avec l'acrylique, l'aquarelle, la gouache et les encres. Alkyde, une peinture à l'huile à séchage rapide, lui a été présentée dans un cours d'illustration. Elle travaille également l'acrylique, en utilisant un retardateur sur de grandes surfaces.

  Cheryl aime aussi travailler le dessin, exécuter des études sur l'équilibre, la couleur, la profondeur, le mouvement, etc. Elle trouve que travailler en série est parfaite pour explorer plusieurs façons de regarder ou de penser un sujet ou un dessin.
