Peintre, écrivain et enseignante. Diplômée en Art à l'Institut d'Art de Maryland. Prix de la Fondation  Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough du Musée de Dallas en 1995. Nombreuses expositions  dans des galeries et musées au Etats-Unis, Allemagne, Canada, France, Angleterre, Chine.

 "Mon travail est une série de contrastes.  Les contrastes tournent autour de la beauté et le grotesque dans l'humanité.  Ils visent à répondre aux invariants de la condition humaine: bonne et mauvaise, le corps et l'âme et de l'amour et de la mort. Ils constituent le cœur même de la condition humaine."


Rosemary Meza-DesPlas is an artist from Dallas, TX. She received her MFA Degree in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art (Hoffberger School of Painting). She studied under the Abstract Expressionist Grace Hartigan, director of Hoffberger School of Painting. She received her BFA from the University of North Texas where she studied with Vernon Fisher. Ms. Meza-DesPlas received the Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund Award from the Dallas Museum of Art in 1995.

Rosemary Meza-DesPlas has exhibited at many galleries & museums including Vorck Studios, Berlin, Germany; Hoxton Arches Gallery, London, UK; Red Head Gallery, Toronto, Canada; LuXun Academy of Fine Arts Art Gallery, Shenyang, China; New Mexico Museum of Art; Actuel’Art Lagalerie and Espace Kiron, Paris, France; A.I.R. Gallery, NYC; Center for Latino Arts, Boston, MA; Wade Wilson Art, Santa Fe, NM and ARC Gallery & Educational Foundation, Chicago, IL.

Rosemary Meza-DesPlas is a Professor of Art at El Centro College in Dallas, TX. She has taught at El Centro College since 2000.

Ms. Meza-DesPlas is also a writer and self-published a poetry chapbook in 1995 called The Laughter Between My Legs. She is featured in the 2007 video Triumph of our Communities: Artists and Organizations produced by the Hispanic Research Center, Arizona State University.
